Raman Kalher
Growing up in a large, interconnected Indian family, I have learned to appreciate the intricate nuances of relationships, the importance of communication, and the power of cultural heritage in shaping one’s identity. Having three generations in one household has been both a privilege as well as an important challenge from which I have learned to understand healing within families.
In my practice, I work with teens, adults, and families to explore their full identities and the many layers that shape their lives. Whether it’s supporting a teen navigating school and identity, an adult working through trauma or relationship challenges, or a family learning to communicate across cultural and generational divides, I hold space for each person to be seen and heard in their complexity.
My approach is affirming and collaborative, grounded in the belief that every individual carries strengths and resilience, even in the face of struggle. I do not view people through the lens of pathology, but rather as whole beings with unique stories and capacities for growth. In our work together, I introduce different therapeutic approaches while staying client-centered–this means our sessions are always guided by your needs and goals. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. Together, we’ll explore which tools and strategies feel most meaningful and supportive for you.
Starting therapy can be a daunting experience, but choosing to work on yourself is one of the most rewarding decisions you’ll ever make. And you don’t have to do it alone! Reach out for a no-charge 15-minute consultation. I’d love to connect.
